G.A.R. Veteran Dies at Age of 80 Years Sunday

Ypsilanti, Sept. 27 - Christopher C. Sherwood aged 80 years, Union veteran of the Civil war and a member of the G.A.R. post here, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nellie White, Sunday night. Deceased was born in New York state and came to Michigan when a young man. He enlisted in a New York regiment at the outbreak of the Civil war. He is survived by three children, Arthur and Mrs. Nellie White of Ypsilanti and Mrs. Emma Bray of Detroit. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with burial in Stony Creek cemetery.
