Land was sold to him by Peter W. Yates and recorded 14 day of January 1803 in the office of the Clerk of Cayuga County.

On Jan 30 1811 and recorded Feb 9 1811, Union college of Schenectady conveyed to Jacob about 96 acres adjoining Jacob's fifty acres to the east and south. Both lots were located in the Military Tract. buying price was $696.00.

He sold his land, NW corner of lot No 55 Seneca County, on east shore of Seneca Lake. to James Gordon of Seneca in the County of Ontario on the 13th day of December 1833. The deed was recorded on January 8 1834. The selling price was $4,200.00

144 acres in the northwest corner of lot 55 was purchased from E. Watson of Albany NY

Grace Witty says in a letter to Jean Lowden that Jacob built a log cabin at Romulus in the summer of 1794 and the next summer came back with his bride. Grace believed the marriage was in Middle Paxton township.

Jacob Lowden served as a private in Captain Samuel McMath's company, Lieutenant Colonel Mahan's Regiment, New York Militia from Aug 6 to November 8, 1814 and was paid $19.09 for two months and twelve days' service.
