John Louden died Friday evening, December 18 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Adam Lowe, Watts Township, aged 76 years. He had been in ill health the past year. Mr. Louden was a member of the Hill United Brethren Church. Surviving him are the following children: Walter W. and Christie M. Louden, Millersburg; Allen D. Louden, Berrysburg; Ellsworth J. Louden, Mrs. Adam Lowe, Watts Township, and Mrs. Charles Hammaker, Losh's Run. A step brother, Seren Lowe, of Newberry; sixteen Grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. 

During the World War a son and eight grandsons of Mr. Louden were in the service. Funeral services were held at the Hill U.B. Church at 10:30 Tuesday morning following, Rev. H. G. Roese pastor of the Liverpool U.B. Church officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Susan Louden - A Life Resident of Watts Township and Member of Hill U.B. Church has gone to her Reward...

Watts Township, Jan 27 - Mrs. Susan Louden, wife of John Louden of this place died Sunday of last week at 5 p.m. Mrs. Louden had been ill for almost a year but was able to be around until Tuesday before her death when she took seriously ill.

She was the daughter of David and Catherine Liddick and was the last of her parents family. She was born June 10, 1851, and is survived by her husband, two daughters and four sons as follows: Mrs. Adam Lowe and Ellsworth, this place; Mrs. Chas. Hammaker, Losh Run; Allen, Berrysburg;

Walter and Christ, Millersburg. Two children preceded her to the spirit world. Charles having died when small and Arthur, aged 13 years, having drowned in the mill race at New Buffalo over 22 years ago. Eighteen grandchildren also survive.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother and a good neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. As the clouds overshadow the sun, stars and moon so is their home overshadowed with gloom.

Funder services were held last Thursday forenoon by her pastor, Rev. G. W. Rothermel, and once more the Hill U.B. Church was filled with neighbors and friends who paid their last tribute of respect. The pallbearers were six of her grandsons, namely; Norman and Julius Lowe,

Benson and George Louden, and Harry and Chester Hammaker. Friends attended the funeral from Williamsport, Berrysburg, Millersburg, Enola, Rockville, Marysville, Duncannon, Benvenue, Losh Run and Altoona. The family have the sympathy of the community.
