Born: 1911, Watts Township, Perry County, PA Died AUG 1932, Watts Township, Perry County, PA Buried: Hill Church Cemetery, Watts Township, Perry Co. Pennsylvania From newspaper story - August 1932:Watts Township: Man Accidently Kills Self Tuesday Morning Ralph Louden, 21, of Watts township, accidentally shot himself and died instantly. About 6:30 a.m. Louden with a 22 Caliber rifle went hunting for groundhogs. In crossing a wire fence near his home he tripped and the gun was discharged, the ball entering his right temple. Dr. J.E. Book, county coroner of this place, made an investigation and from the position of the body it was evident that death resulted at once, as one of the unfortunate man's legs was still fast in the wire fence. When Louden failed to return at the noon hour members of his household became alarmed and at 2 o'clock a search was started. His lifeless body was found at 3 o'clock about 100 feet from the house by his brother-in-law, George Klinepeter. Deceased was a son of Andrew and Minnie (Leffler) Louden and was born in Watts Township. He was a farm laborer and in addition to his parents is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Ernest, Edward and Cloed, of Watts township; and Clyde, of Harrisburg; Miss Edna Louden, employed by Sheriff Ulsh, Bloomfield; Nor, Mrs. Howard Miller, Halifax, Vera, Mrs. George Klinepeter, Watts township, and Miss Bessie Louden, Steelton. Funeral services will be at Hill Church Thursday afternoon followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. T. V. Miller, pastor of the East Newport Church of God, will officiate. |
