From obituary: Former Colfax Township resident Ralph Loudon, 77, former farmer in the Coin-College Springs area, died Saturday at the Community Hospital in Boone, and services were being held at Boone Tuesday. Ralph was the son of the late W.B. (Bill) and Rose Loudon, born at College Springs. He was married to Lucille Paisley of College Springs, and they had four children when they moved several years ago to Mt. Ayr and then to Boone where they farmed. He had fallen and had fracture of the hip. His wife and two children, Wallace of Boone and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Sobatka of Des Moines survive him. Two children, Lawrence and Billy, preceded him in death as did a brother Ray Loudon; and sister, Mrs. Clarke (Annie) McComb. Mr. and Mrs. Paul McComb plan to attend the funeral, Paul being among the nephews to serve as Casket bearers.
