Information from Connie Lowe Appleby INFO Civil War Veteran: Jacob married Susan at the home of Catherine and Edward Dressler in New Buffalo. He lived his entire life in Perry County and was a farmer and laborer. For some time during their marriage, Jacob's brother John lived with them. They lived in a log house in Watts Township on five acres of land adjoining lands of his father John Lowe, Jr. Jacob purchased this land for $20 on 1 June 1863, from Mary Hammaker - Perry County Deed Book V, Vol. 1,pg 219 Source: Connie Lowe Appleby of Harrisburg - descendant Jacob served with Company F, 46th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers during the Civil War. - blue eyes, black hair, ruddy complexion.
