War of 1812

Jacob Lowden (1769-1845) served as a private in Captain Samuel McMath's company, Lieutenant Colonel Mahan's Regiment, New York Militia from Aug 6 to November 8, 1814 and was paid $19.09 for two months and twelve days' service. John Alonzo Grow III (1826-1902) was a Captain in the Civil War in the 25th Independent Light Battery from New York State and was on the Red River campaign.

Thomas Hammaker (1840-1912) enlisted Dec 16, 1863, was mustered into the service at Harrisburg, Pa, to serve three years as private of Captains RS Kacy, RS Gordner, and Col. JBS Gobin, Co. H 47th Pennsylvania Regiment, under command of General Sheridan. The regiment was assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 19th Corps. Comrade Hammaker shared the fortunes of the regiments in the following engagements: Red River Expedition, March 1861, Sabine Cross Road, April 8, Pleasantville, April 9, Winchester, Sept 19th; Cedar Creek, Oct 22nd. The regiment was highly recommended for its distinguished service and discipline and comrade. Hammaker was honorably discharged Dec 25, 1865 at Charleston, SC

William Louden (1836-1911) enlisted in the Union Army on 10 Aug 1862 and served in company C 136th Infantry (Pvt.) and was discharged 29 May 1963 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania.

William H. Liddick (1833-1886) served in the Civil War, Co. H - 47th Pennsylvania Regiment. Enlisted as a Private on 30 August 1864; Mustered out on 1 Jun 1865

Adam Loudon (1843-1923) enlisted in the Union Army on Sept 11 1861 in Perry Co. PA. He served with Commodore Farragut's fleet squadron on Gunboat (government schooner) Matchless.

James K. Lowden (1832-1899) enlisted in Co D 5th Michigan Cavalry Sergeant 8/14/1862 at Northville for 3 years age 31, mustered Aug 27 1862. Missing in action at Trevillian Station Va., June 1864. wounded Dec 1864. promoted to Quartermaster Sergeant; discharged at Annapolis May 1865

Edgar D. Reid (1830-1915) enlisted in the Army in Company K of the 10th Michigan Calvary in February of 1865 and joined his regiment at Knoxville, Tenn.

Charles O. Reid (1840-1864) served with company B of the 9th Michigan Cavalry. KIA?

Lafayette Lowden (1827-1893) was in the 1st Missouri Engineers of the West

James Lowe (1838-1912) enlisted 10 Aug 1862 in Harrisburg and served in Co. C 136 Regiment. Pennsylvania Infantry. Discharged 29 May 1863. He re-enlisted 30 Aug 1864 in Co. H 47th Regiment and was discharged 1 Jun 1865 in Washington.

David George Louden (1892-1976) enlisted in the U.S. Army 30 may 1917 and served with Co F 6th Engineers. He served in France and Germany. Honorably discharged 29 Aug 1919 at Camp Dix, New Jersey.

George Andrew Louden (1895-1960) was a World War I Veteran PFC - 79th Division during World War I.

Norman Enus Lowe (1890-1918) was in Co. C, 314 Infantry, during World War I

Benson Charles Louden (1893-1918) entered the service May 25, 1918. He was trained at Camp Meade, Md. and assigned to the 104th Engineers. He was killed in action November 3, 1918 being in a hut with his comrades, among them being George Zerfing of this place, when a German bomb demolished the building and killed Mr. Louden. He sleeps in a military cemetery in France made beautiful by loving hands with a white cross marking his resting place and where sleep thousands of the boys who made the supreme sacrifice in the great cause....From obituary - 11 Sep 1919 - Duncannon Record, Perry County.
