William Allen Lowden, highly esteemed resident of Hamilton and district for the last twenty years died in Mount Hamilton Sanatorium Tuesday, after an illness of about three months. A son of the late Hiram Lowden and Naomi Bush, Glanford Township pioneers, Mr. Lowden was born fifty years ago in Norfolk County, where he spent his early years before moving to the Hamilton district, where he was a successful farmer in Glanford and Seneca Townships. He moved to Caledonia last November. Besides his widow, the former Ethel Allen and one daughter, Pearl, at home, he is survived by five brothers; Edward, Portland, Oregon, George, St. Catherines; Arthur and Jacob, Detroit; Clarence, Delhi; and six sisters; Mrs. John Tait and Mrs. E. Galpin, Ingersol; Mrs. O Sipes, Delhi; Mrs. Mary Stirling, St. Catherines; Mrs. M. Morrick and Mrs. L. McClain, Sincoe. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon from Caledonia with burial in Delhi.
