William shows in the 1830 census next door to his father Thomas in Yates twp., Orleans Co., NY with 3 children less than 5, he and his wife are 20 - 30, and presumably his mother-in-law, age 50 -60.215

From Michigan land records William purchased 160 acres in Lenawee Co. 10/9/1835. He is counted there in 1840 and 1845

quit claim deed from William to his father, Thomas, dated 2/7/1850, for $100 concerning property in Adrian, Lenawee Co. MI.

the last four children listed lived with their grandparents in 1850 and may not belong to William

letter written Jun 3 1856 when William was in prison about some land says he has been in prison 6 1/2 years. He states "If this is not landed my next appeal will be to Isaac Barry and trust he will try to assist me" A Chas. Hayden signature is underneath William's name and is believed to have written the letter .
